just a little breaking news:.

after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.

last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

Confessing to the elders...

has anyone ever had to confess their sins to the elders...left out some of the details or "other gross" sins...but wondered if you were truly forgiven of your sins?

or was reproved and given back your priviledges but knew that you didn't tell everything.

Ok, as embarrassing as it is now... I told everything. I called them up the two different times that I got drunk and ASKED for a judicial committee meeting in order to "keep the congregation clean". ACCKKK! What a sap. They bar-b-qued me ! First time I was privately reproved and the second which was several years later I was firmly chastised (different elders on that meeting) not punished beyond that though. I was sooo embroiled in that society it makes me blush remembering it.

Mine are simple 1) Go fishing from a boat... even a tiny boat 2) Camp out in the wilderness 3) Find a bigger place for my homestead so I can raise beefalo... strange but true! I am just a country girl at heart.

"I wanted to throw the book across the room"

i just read the topic "i thought i was alone" by newbie elinor.

i found it interesting how he mentioned that he wanted to throw the daniel book "across the room" after reading some of the many misapplied prophecies concocted by the overlord's in brooklyn.

when i was a jw i also fantasized at times of throwing the book across the room, but for me it was the revelation book over ten years ago.

At the end what finally did it for me as the "Daily Text" . That injection of mental acid which we were supposed to taken in every morning. The applications of the scriptures had NO relavence to the actual descriptions. The last ones that I read were at the end of 2005 and they had gone beyond the pale. Utter rubbish

I think that this is a great idea!!! Personally, I would love to add that I am in my early 50s, live in Vt., love country life and am interested in a good, gentle relationship. We should really do this!!!

What can you do with a heroin addict?

or more to the point, what can you do with your cousin who is in love with a heroin addict, lives with him, has a child to him, is regularly beaten by him to the point that she went into a womens refuge last year, and supports him with all her income because she is the breadwinner.. sigh.. i just got in touch with my cousins again after several years, and i find out my beautiful cousin has been brutalised by this fuckwit for years.

but until she is ready to see hes ruining her life nobody can do anything to help her.. the whole family has given up on saying anything because she always goes back to him.

she loves him.

I am not certain if her child is a boy or girl but have someone ask her to close her eyes for a moment and imagine that child grown up and living with an addict, facing abuse daily, physical, mental and psychological... is this what she wants for that child. If she could save her young one from that type of future .. would she do it. Perhaps then she will realize that she needs to break the cycle.
